ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has reaffirmed his commitment to managing the state’s finances responsibly without resorting to borrowing from financial institutions.
Instead, he has outlined strategies to boost internal revenue generation to sustain the government’s operations.
Governor Adeleke conveyed this message during the inaugural edition of “Ipade Imole,” a quarterly interactive public engagement forum held in Osogbo.
At the event, he highlighted the achievements of his administration and shared plans for the N2 billion palliative fund received from the Federal Government of Nigeria.

This fund will be allocated to significant projects, including the renovation and expansion of transportation services with additional buses for improved accessibility and affordability.
Additionally, the fund will support the rehabilitation of health facilities in the state.
“Development of Osun is paramount to me, and hence I decided to take huge sacrifice by adding my security vote to fund the project in the state rather than keep it to myself like others before me”, he said.
The Governor further revealed that his administration has prioritised projects it intends to finance with the Infrastructure Support Fund of the Federal Government, which include a flyover in the state capital.
“We intend to use the N2billion to fund some projects, including dualisation of roads at two per senatorial districts; flyover bridges at Osogbo and some other towns; street lights for newly constructed roads; second stream of 332 boreholes across wards; commencement of Imole transport service; and Imole Housing Estate at 500 units per federal constituency,” he added.
