Bandits Invade Katsina Community, Kill Ward Councillor, Attack Several Houses

LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Bandits have reportedly attacked Nasarawa community in the Funtua Local Government Area of Katsina State, killing one Samaila Buhari Mairago, the councillor representing Nasarawa Ward in the Local council.

The ruling All Progressives Congress member was killed by the terrorists on Monday at his residence in Funtua town.

According to a source to journalists, the gunmen shot sporadically and attacked houses without hindrance.

He lamented that such attacks had become frequent in the area and called on the Government to address the situation.

“Bandits on Monday invaded Nasarawa ward, Funtua LGA of Katsina and killed the councillor of the ward known as Mairago,” the source said.

Katsina and other North-West states are being terrorised by bandits and other criminals.

The gunmen kill, maim and kidnap for ransom despite the efforts of the government to tame them over the years.

Recall that Voiceofnaija.ng had earlier reported that suspected bandits attack had claimed the lives of three persons and left others injured in the Soro community, Binji Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
