IBADAN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Nigeria’s social media space is currently awash with condolences from Nigerians as they grieve the loss of renowned life coach Greatness Olorunfemi, while also pointing fingers at Maitama General Hospital for purportedly failing to do everything in their power to save her.
Greatness fell victim to one-chance robbers who not only took her belongings but also callously ejected her from their vehicle, resulting in her tragic demise on Tuesday, 26 September 2023.
The Coordinator of YALI Network Abuja, Ms. Moyosoluwa Oladayo, while condoling the family, described Ms. Olorunfemi as a dedicated and committed member of the network.
She noted that according to the viral video and audio from good Nigerians who rushed late Ms Olorunfemi to the Maitama General Hospital Emergency section, she was rejected and not attended to even when she died; they refused to admit the corpse in their morgue.

She said, “We also got some damning reports of rejection and abandonment from the emergency section of the Maitama general hospital. We are currently engaging with the Nigeria Police to investigate the matter even as we feel Maitama General Hospital contravened the National Health Act that was passed in 2014. The law states that “a health care provider, health worker, or health establishment shall not refuse a person emergency medical treatment for any reason, and anyone that goes against the law is liable to a fine of N100,000, a jail term of six months or both, upon conviction.”
“Also, the National Assembly in July 2017 passed the Compulsory Treatment and Care of Victims of Gunshots Bill, aimed at ensuring that victims of gunshot wounds receive treatment from medical workers and assistance from security agencies,” she added.
The reports have sparked outrage on social media, with many netizens blaming the medical personnel in the hospital for her death.
