Again, Many Feared Dead As Boat Capsizes In Adamawa

LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Many passengers are feared dead after a boat capsized in Gurin, a suburb of Fufore Local Government Area in Adamawa State. 

According to reports, the passengers, mostly women and children, were on Monday, returning from farms and a naming ceremony when the wooden boat sank.

The development is barely 48 hours after eight people died in a boat mishap in Rugange, Yola South Local Government Area of the said State.

Also, recall that voiceofnaija.ng had earlier reported that Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA) recovered 24 corpses and rescued over 30 persons in a boat mishap that occurred in Mokwa LGA of Niger State.

The Executive Secretary of Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency, Dr. Mohammed Suleiman, confirmed the recent incident, stating that it occurred in the afternoon and that rescue efforts are ongoing.
