LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – President Bola Tinubu has given the green light for the construction of 1,000 houses in seven states across the country, Vice President Kashim Shettima announced on Friday.
The states that will benefit from the housing projects are Sokoto, Zamfara, Kaduna, Kebbi, Katsina, Niger, and Benue.
Shettima made the disclosure during the commissioning of projects executed by the Borno State Government in the last 100 days, according to a statement issued by Olusola Abiola, the Director of Information at the Office of the Vice President.
The Vice President stated that the housing projects are part of a comprehensive plan by the Federal Government to address conflicts in the north.

Shettima also revealed that Tinubu has approved the release of N50 billion to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to initiate the Pulaku initiative, a non-kinetic solution to the crisis confronting the people of the northwest.
The Pulaku initiative is aimed at addressing the root causes of the conflict in the region, which has been plagued by banditry, kidnapping, and other forms of violence.
“President Tinubu has approved the construction of 1,000 houses in Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina, Zamfara, Kaduna, Niger and Benue States with all the ancillary facilities of schools, clinics, veterinary clinics and ranches for the Fulani community in Kaduna and Benue states.
“President Tinubu insisted that all the victims must be carried along,” the Vice President said.
