A Nigerian on Twitter, Kene, has raised an alarm after a man was caught pretending to be epileptic in Lekki, Lagos.
Taking to his Twitter handle on Sunday, the man revealed how he stopped to help the man who was visibly shaking and convulsing when raining, and how he later found out it was scam.
Narrating what happened, he said, “So, this morning whilst driving on Primewater road, I saw this man lying on the road under the rain. I drove past him and kept staring at my rear view mirror. I didn’t like he was on the road and under the rain. I thought he was drunk, and cold so I parked my car to move him.
“I ran back to him and saw he was shaking and vomiting a form substance; I didn’t know what to do. I started to panic and call for help. Someone stopped his car, and suggested I find a stick to separate his mouth. I couldn’t find a stick so I ran back to my car to get a spoon.
I got the spoon and placed it in his mouth. Some other guy stopped as well to help. The victim stopped shaking and could barely talk. Someone offered him onions, he chewed and later regained consciousness. We started asking questions – how he got there, and to see what we can do.
“Apparently, he’s epileptic and the rain triggered it. He was looking for money to buy his medication because his last job didn’t pay. Eventually, one of us raised the money and gave him to get his medication. I was afraid he was going to die. I was clueless, and couldn’t leave him. I was even going to carry him and put him in my car till he gets warm and rush him to a nearby pharmacy for help. If not for this advise not to touch him and those two other men, I would have stayed under the rain till this man gained consciousness. I’m glad he’s alive.

“The Range Rover dude that gave him the money, the man who helped with the POS and one other who advised me not to move him; God bless you all. May we always receive help when we most need it.
I’m glad I had a spoon. I’m glad I stopped despite my tyre was deflating.
“God bless you. Weldone. Pls, no need using spoon or onions. Incase of next time, lie the person on d ground while removing any item around him that could endanger him. When he comes out of it, ask if he’s on any medication. If he isn’t, encourage him to visit the hospital.
“Thank you. We did ask him and raised money for his medication. He called it Carb (like an agbo or something). Hopefully he got it because it said it lasts him for 10months.
Not everyone can visit the hospital due to lack of funds.”
Hours later, he took to his Twitter handle to reveal that the man is a fraud.
He tweeted, “He said, “UPDATE:
THIS MAN IS A SCAM.
He goes around acting like he is epileptic to scam people. Please don’t fall for his act. If you see him convulsing, wipe him oraimo cord.
