ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, has paid visits to key judicial figures, including State Chief Judge, Justice Afojulu Raymond Ozoemena and President of Enugu State Customary Court of Appeal (CCA), Justice George Nnamani.
During his visit to Justice Ozoemena, Udeh reassured the Chief Judge of his commitment to working in tandem with the judiciary to bring to fruition Governor Peter Mbah’s vision of revolutionizing justice delivery in the State.
Accompanied by a delegation of prominent officials from the Ministry of Justice, Udeh also extended a courtesy visit to Justice George Nnamani, the President of the Enugu State Customary Court of Appeal.
During this meeting, Udeh articulated his intention to collaborate with justice sector stakeholders in realizing Governor Mbah’s goal of expediting the dispensation of justice.

Expressing his dedication, Dr. Udeh, the State’s chief law officer, pledged to leverage his position to foster a harmonious and productive relationship between the Executive and the Judiciary.
This alignment aims to facilitate Governor Mbah’s pursuit of innovative approaches for the betterment of the people of Ndi Enugu.
Additionally, the Attorney General affirmed the commitment of the State Ministry of Justice to closely cooperate with the Customary Court of Appeal.
These collaborative efforts encompass codifying customary laws, gaining legislative recognition and certification of customary marriages, advancing law reporting, and bolstering justice administration throughout the State.

In response to these overtures, the President of the Customary Court of Appeal expressed appreciation for the visit, emphasizing the opportunity it provided to draw the Governor’s attention and seek support for vital reforms in the State’s customary law and justice system.
These reforms are anticipated to enhance livelihoods and foster increased revenue generation in Enugu State.
In these momentous courtesy visits and engagements with key stakeholders, the Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, along with the Directors of Public Prosecution and Civil Litigation, joined the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, demonstrating a united front in their commitment to the betterment of the justice system in Enugu State.
