LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- No fewer than five people have been killed, and many others injured in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau, following an invasion by suspected bandits.
Recall that the said Local Government area has been under invasion by bandits in recent times, leading to the deaths of over 300 people.
A source close to the council revealed that the bandits, in large numbers, invaded Nchya Village, at about 1:00 am, earlier today, shooting sporadically in the air to announce their arrival.

According to reports, five people were killed, and many others injured. The bandits also set houses on fire before they fled away.
It was gathered that the incident later caused apprehension and pandemonium when the corpses of those killed were conveyed to the local Government Headquarters.
A mass protest ensued as residents of Mangu trooped out in large numbers to protest against the killings, while business activities were put to a stop until the intervention of men of Operation Safe Haven, who dispersed the aggrieved protesters by shooting into the air.
Upon contact, Spokesman of the Plateau State Police Command, DSP Alfred Alabo, was unavailable to confirm the incident as at the time of filling this report.
