RICHMOND, Texas. (VOICE OF NAIJA) – The Kayode Farinto Presidential Campaign Council (KAYFAR PCC) addressed the recent turmoil at the Tin-Can Island Port, attributing it to National Association of Road Transport Owners, NARTO’s refusal to comply with the N3,000 ticketing regime imposed on trucks by the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN).
In a statement released by Chief (Barr) Val Iwuchukwu, the Deputy Director General of KAYFAR PCC, obtained by voiceofnaija.ng the group refuted claims made by Sir John Oforbike, alleging that the Kayode Farinto rally triggered the fracas.
The council clarified that the rally was scheduled at the KLT Chapter in the afternoon of 3 August, 2023, when they received news of the pandemonium at Tin-Can Island Port due to the MWUN’s ticket imposition.
According to the KAYFAR PCC statement, the clash erupted as NARTO members resisted the N3,000 ticketing demand, leading to a free-for-all fight between the agents of both associations. It took the intervention of the Nigeria Police to quell the situation.

Unfortunately, the fracas coincided with the campaign rally of Emenike Nwokeoji and the KAYFAR PCC team at the Tin-Can Chapter, making the campaign venue untenable, and the supporters had to disperse.
Responding to allegations against their Presidential candidate, Dr. Kayode Farinto, the council condemned the claims made by John Offorbike, asserting that they have reported the matter to the relevant security agencies, and a full-scale investigation is underway.
The KAYFAR PCC emphasized their commitment to peace and non-violence, stating that they are licensed Customs Brokers and will uphold professionalism and civility in all their actions.
