ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – The Department of State Services (DSS) operatives have arrived at the Lagos State Assembly complex, where members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) gathered to stage a protest against fuel subsidy removal.
The operatives were seen on the premises while the protesters assembled at the entrance gate.
Earlier, the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Obafemi Hamzat, had addressed the organized labour members, appealing for calm amid the escalating tensions.
In a separate incident, angry protesters managed to breach the gates of the National Assembly in Abuja to gain access to the complex, The Punch reports.
