LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Lagos State Government have announced the immediate reduction of transportation fares in the State, in a bid to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal.
According to the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-olu, who made the disclosure in a statement earlier today, the reduction in transport fare is applicable to Lagos buses controlled by Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), with a 50 percent reduction and yellow buses with 25 percent reduction fee.

The development, according to Sanwo-olu is following the State’s decision and series of configuration and validation by LAMATA.
The Governor added that this development will be effective from Wednesday, 2 August.
