ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Anti-corruption officials in Kano revealed that Abdullahi Ganduje is under investigation after a stockpile of stolen fertilizers, grains, and farming equipment was discovered in a hidden warehouse in the State.
The Kano Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) stated that the probe is focused on uncovering how more than N4 billion was used to purchase these items, which were later found concealed in a warehouse in Kumbotso Local Government Area, Peoples Gazette reports.
During a raid at a facility operated by the state’s agricultural department in a remote village, officials seized Toyota Hilux trucks, heavy-duty trucks, tractors, cement bags, fertilizers, tyres, soybeans, and maize, among other items.
The PCACC has detained and arrested at least five individuals linked to the storage, with an official stating, “Former Governor Ganduje is already linked to the fraud.”

Ganduje, who served as Kano Governor from May 2015 to May 2023, gained notoriety in 2018 when videos were released showing him receiving ‘kickbacks’ in dollars, which he vehemently denied.
The state anti-corruption agency had verified the authenticity of the video and invited the former Governor to appear before the commission.
Efforts to reach the spokespersons for the Kano anti-corruption agency and Ganduje’s office were unsuccessful, and further comments from Mr Ganduje’s spokesman are awaited.
He has been a close ally of President Bola Tinubu, who sought to appoint him as a cabinet minister.
