LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Manchester United goalkeeper, Nathan Bishop, has expressed his regret to Paul Mullin after a collision that resulted in the Wrexham star’s lung being punctured.
The Welsh club’s 3-1 triumph over Manchester United was overshadowed by an unsettling injury to their star scorer, who was forced to leave the field in the 12th minute wearing an oxygen mask after colliding unintentionally with Bishop while pursuing a long pass.
Bishop, who charged out of his goal, wiped out Mullin when he attempted to get to the ball first.
The goalkeeper has now apologized to Mullin on social media, stating: “Just wanted to share my sincerest apologies.
“A complete misjudgement and a genuine accident with 0 malicious intent at all! Wishing you the speediest recovery and hope to see you back scoring goals as soon as possible!”

“Wrexham coach Phil Parkinson was left fuming after the incident and revealed that Mullin has suffered a small puncture in his lung which will force him to miss the start of the 2023-24 League Two campaign.
“However, United coach Travis Binnion, who took charge of the youth-based team, tried to play down the matter insisting that “it’s part and parcel of the game, (and) nobody wants to see anyone get injured”.
Mullin won’t be there when Wrexham resumes play against Philadelphia Union II on Friday. On the other hand, United will make a comeback with the best players on the field to face Real Madrid on Wednesday night at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.
