ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- An Ebute-Metta Chief Magistrate’s Court has remanded a sales representative of a food vendor, Goodness Innocent for allegedly stealing N2.3m from her employer.
The 21-year-old food vendor is facing two counts of conspiracy and stealing preferred against her by the police.
The Police prosecutor, Inspector Cyriacus Osuji, told the court that the Innocent and others still at large conspired to commit the alleged offences.
Osuji said the defendant stole a bank Automated Teller Machine card from the complainant, one Kehinde Odiye, who was her boss and withdrew N2.3m.

He said the incident took place on 16 July 2023, around 5 pm, at No. 168, Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos State.
According to him, the offence committed contravened Sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.
Magistrate Olanike Olagbende granted the defendant N1 million bail with one surety.
However, Innocent will remain in the Kirikiri Custodial Centre until the bail conditions are met.
Magistrate Olagbende adjourned the case till 10 August 2023.
