LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Cristiano Ronaldo has lashed out fiercely in response to claims that he has been pressuring Al-Nassr to sign Porto player Otavio.
According to reports, Ronaldo called his 28-year-old countryman to persuade him to join him in Al-Nassr.
However, Ronaldo refuted the allegations when watching Al-Nassr defeat Farense 5-1 in a friendly on Friday.
“Many players are discussed, but I don’t speak because I’m not an agent,” Ronaldo told the media.
Otavio is mentioned alongside ten or fifteen other people, but there is still no news. There are now no names on the team, but we will undoubtedly strengthen it.

When asked if his club has closed a deal for Otavio, Ronaldo said: “Totally a lie. They [the media] release the news, but nothing has been finalized. We know that we are going to reinforce, that is clear, but still nothing concrete.”
Al-Nassr is hoping to improve after Ronaldo’s debut season with the club saw them lose out on the Saudi Pro League championship by five points.
This summer, several well-known European players, including Ruben Neves of the Portuguese national team, joined Saudi teams.
Otavio, a Brazilian-born employee at Porto, has worked there for nine years and has two more years left on his present contract.
Al-Nassr will be required to fulfill Ronaldo’s £31 million release clause if he wants to hook up with his Portugal teammate at the club level.
