ABUJA, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Reports reaching voiceofnaija.ng have it that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be traveling out of the country to attend his first ECOWAS Summit as Nigeria’s President.
According to the President’s media team, Tinubu will depart Nigeria on Saturday, 8 July and return on Monday, 10 July.
The ECOWAS Summit will hold in Bissau, the capital city of Guinea-Bissau, with other African leaders who are part of ECOWAS expected in attendance.
In a statement signed by Dele Alake, the presidential spokesperson, the summit is expected to address the memoranda on pressing sub-regional issues including security challenges affecting member countries, among others.
This is the second time President Tinubu is traveling outside the country since his inauguration as Nigeria’s leader on 29 May, 2023.
He recently attended the New Global Financial Pact Summit in Paris, France, where he met with world leaders and strengthened bilateral relationship with them.
His impending trip will see him travel within Africa and return within a short period of time.
