LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Delta State Police Command has announced the recovery of arms and ammunitions during the raid of kidnappers’ hideout, an uncompleted building at Agadaga Avenue, off Jakpa Road, in the Uvwie Local Government Area of the State.
The recovered items includes one AK-47 rifle, five magazines loaded with 161 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, one assault rifle with two magazines loaded with 59 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, two English pump-action guns, 110 rounds of live cartridges, one double barrel gun, one single barrel gun, one toy gun, cutlasses and charms wrapped in a cap.

The uncompleted building, also an hideout, is a haven for suspected kidnappers and armed robbers in the area.
The Commissioner of Police, Wale Abass, confirmed the report in a statement signed by the police image maker, DSP Bright Edafe.
Following a tipoff, the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, of Ekpan Division, CSP Aliyu Shaba, had led a team of policemen and military men to the scene where the weapons were recovered.
Edafe atated that the recovery was made on 3 July at about 4pm adding that efforts are being made on the arrest the crime syndicate.
