LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Andy Murray has appealed to Wimbledon to cease scheduling him in the early evenings because he wants to get home and spend time with his kids before night.
Murray would prefer to have his matches over in the afternoon, to spend time with his children in the evening.
“Usually, I get given the late shift so hopefully this year they will put me on a little bit earlier,” he said.
“All of the late matches eventually take place inside. If it’s at all feasible, I would prefer to play a little earlier in the day so I can see the kids later.”
The 36-year-old two-time champion has frequently been forced to play out the night because, according to reports, the BBC wants him to play in the last match to increase primetime viewing.
Additionally, in order to lengthen the program, the tournament has evolved into a day-and-night event with extended breaks after matches on show courts.
