ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Federal Government of Nigeria has set 15 July, 2023, as a new date to complete repairs and re-open both Eko and Apongbon bridges to traffic.
This was made known by the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, Mrs. Olukorede Kesha.
Mrs. Kesha made the announcement after meeting with contractors on the project, noting that there are underlying repairs that must be completed before re-opening.
According to her, these repairs will ensure the durability of the infrastructure.

She appealed for patience and understanding of road users.
Kesha said: “We had an extensive meeting today, so we all agreed that we will open the two bridges finally mid-July.
“We are aware of the discomfort the motoring public is going through at the moment but they should just bear with Federal Government.
“We are doing everything possible to ensure that the contractor finishes on or before July 15.”
