Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has sacked the Chairman of the State Market Board, Danjuma Odiba, for “gross failure to perform his duties”.
The State Governor announced the sack at Monday’s extraordinary State Executive Council Meeting held at Government House, Lokoja.
Confirming the development after the exco meeting, the Commissioner for Information and Communication Strategy, Mr. Kingsley Fanwo, said Odiba was accused of neglecting his duties and promoting the return of filth in the State.
Fanwo added that Odiba’s replacement would be announced in the next few days.

Meanwhile Governor Bello, on Monday during the Executive Council Meeting, administered oath of office, secrecy and allegiance on five returning appointees of his administration who initially resigned their appointments to seek for elective post in the recently concluded gubernatorial primary elections.
The appointees include the Chief of Staff, Abdulkareem Jamiu, Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic planning, Asiwaju Idris Ashiru, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Bar. Deedat Ozigi, Accountant General of the State, Alh. Jubrin Momoh and the Auditor General of the State, Alh. Yakubu Okala.
