LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-Cristiano Ronaldo shone during his 199th international outing, and Roberto Martinez has reportedly praised the “perfect attitude” of the Portugal captain.
After helping his country defeat Bosnia and Herzegovina 3-0 in Saturday’s Euro 2024 qualifier in Lisbon, the attacker moved within one game of reaching a century of appearances for his country at the international level.
Despite the fact that he was scoreless, he still made an impression on his coach.
“He is a unique player with 199 caps,” Martinez told reporters after the match. “His attitude was perfect, without the ball, always working, following the team’s plan. I am very satisfied. [He is] an example of a player who wants the best for the team.”

If Ronaldo plays as expected against Iceland in Reykjavik later this month, he will become the first player in men’s international history to reach 200 caps.
Martinez wants his team to maintain its perfect record in Group J. Ronaldo made his senior Portugal debut in a friendly against Kazakhstan in August 2003.
The 38-year-old, who left Manchester United for Al-Nasr last year, will be joined in the Saudi Pro League by his former Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema next season after the Frenchman signed with Al-Ittihad.
