Afrobeats singer, Burna Boy, has come under fire for cancelling his concert in the Netherlands as the hall was said to have been full of fans.
The show was scheduled to be held at the GelreDome stadium on Saturday night.
But in a statement on his Instagram story on Saturday night, the singer noted that he couldn’t come for the show due to a “number of reasons.”
He partly wrote: “I’m hurt that I couldn’t see you tonight even though I really wanted to. We want to make sure you get the best ‘love Damini’ experience possible and that won’t have happened today for a number of reasons.
“My amazing team has been hard at work trying to salvage it but we couldn’t do it in time. I’ll be announcing a new date in a few hours so watch out for it!”
Sharing a video purportedly from the stadium, which showed thousands of fans waiting, a tweep, VellySlimKing, said: “Burna Boy kept fans waiting for over 5 hours only to postpone his show in the Netherlands. This is really horrible.”

@incredibledanix tweeted: “If Burna can make this people wait and still cancel then we never see anything yet.”
“Its crazy Beyonce had a show the same day and was successful. Thats a 42 yr old woman with a husband and 3 kids. Her tour is 57 stadium shows, trust me your schedule is not crazier than Beyonce. We need to do better, people pay for flight, hotel, etc. to see you. It is wrong,” @burna_notice reacted.
@STFUWARLO also commented and said: “All these people took time and money out to come see you and you guys just ignored them like their time and money don’t mean anything. Nobody came on stage to talk to them, you guys just left them their to listen to the DJ play the same song 50 times. Super Disrespectfully.”
@gen2lee berates fans who spent their money to buy the singer’s ticket when they are yet to attend to their children’s need.
“Misplaced priorities, someone that their child haven’t attended quiz completion in school is skipping work or rest to go see burna. The sooner we focus on something more good for our society the better for us. Everything about this generation is now entertainment.”
Another tweep, Zebelonist, added: “Burna boy everyone was waitingðŸ˜. I’m f**king hurt manðŸ˜ðŸ˜.”
@BolajiDoosky on his part said: “He is a human being,I hope the guy is fine,cos ordinarily he wouldn’t want this to happen,God’s got u Burna.”
