ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Some concerned students of the Federal University Gusau in Zamfara State have blocked the Gusau-Kaduna road to protest the abduction of five students of the university.

The students were said to have been abducted by bandits last Friday night, a situation which has angered the students, resulting to blocking the road.

A development a resulted to several motorists to be left stranded for several hours.

Efforts by the security agents to disperse the students proved abortive as many of them sat on the main road, calling on the appropriate authorities to take urgent action on the security situation in the institution.

The Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Muazu Abubakar who was at the scene of the incident appealed to the protesting students to allow motorists to pass through the road.

But his plea fell on the deaf ears as the students refused to listen to him.
