Rivers Not Christian State, Retract Your Statement – Asari Dokubo Tells Fubara

ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Asari Dokubo, former Niger Delta militant, has said that Rivers State is not a Christian State.

Dokubo stated this while reacting to Governor Siminalayi Fubara, of Rivers State, over his remark on assumption of office.

Governor Fubara had stated that Rivers State is a Christian State.

Reacting, in a Facebook live, the former Niger Delta warlord decried that Governor Fubara started his term on the wrong footing.

Dokubo stressed that such a comment goes against the principles of inclusivity and religious freedom.

He maintained also that the Governor does not have the authority to unilaterally declare the state a Christian one.

His words: “I am using this medium to advise the Governor, Simi Fubara, to better retract the statement.

“I want him to know that Rivers state is not and will never be a Christian state. With such a statement, I can say that the Governor is starting on a wrong footing.”
