LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIAJA)-Former winger for Manchester United and Portugal, Nani has left Melbourne Victory on Wednesday after just 10 league games.

When he signed last year, the 36-year-old was heralded as one of the A-League’s biggest coups in years, but he failed to live up to the hype, failing to score before a major knee injury kept him out for the remainder of the season.

Victory released a statement in which it expressed gratitude to Nani for his contributions and best wishes for the future.

After residing in the US, Spain, and Turkey, Nani signed from Italian club Venezia after departing United in 2015.

Nani won the Premier League four times with United and received 112 caps for Portugal.

Meanwhile, Melbourne Victory placed 11th out of 12 teams in the A-League standings.
