LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- A teenage hawker, identified as Bassey Edet has been crushed to death in Ore, Odigbo council area of Ondo State, by an alleged drunk driver.
It was gathered that the victim was selling snacks at the park before the accident occurred, involving a Toyota Picnic with registration number EPE 576DC.
According to an eyewitness, the driver of the vehicle, whose identity is still unknown as at the time of filing this report, was allegedly drunk while driving.

“The driver was on top speed, rammed into the park and killed the teenager. The people who rushed to the scene of the accident were smelling alcohol from the driver’s body,” the eyewitness narrated.
It was further learnt that the driver of the vehicle has been arrested by the Police, while the damaged vehicle and motorcycle were towed to Odigbo Police Station.
Meanwhile, the remains of the deceased had been deposited at the morgue in Ore.
The Ondo state Police Public Relations Officer, Funmilayo Odunlami, said investigation regarding the incident, has commenced.
