ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Abia State Police Command has confirmed the beheading of an Assistant Superintendent of Police in Aba on Tuesday.

Hoodlums had, in the early hours of Tuesday, 2 May, 2023, beheaded the ASP in Aba in retaliation for their kingpin who was gunned down by the Police on Sunday, 23 April, 2023.

They further threatened no rest for the residents and Police in the city.

The State Public Relations Officer, Geoffrey Ogbonna, said the act was dastardly and highly condemnable.

Ogbonna called for credible information on the perpetrators or on anyone found with a firearm suspected to be unlawfully obtained.

“The dastardly act is highly condemned and the public is enjoined to help with credible information on the perpetrators or anyone found with a firearm suspected to have been unlawfully obtained,” he said.

He noted that the “protection of identity” of the informant(s) is assured.
