LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Cristiano Ronaldo was cruelly insulted by a former Al-Nassr player after doing his signature ‘Siiuu’ goal celebration against Al-Raed.
The Portuguese superstar scored a goal and assisted on another, helping his team to a convincing 4-0 victory in his most recent Saudi Pro League appearance.
Ballon d’Or five times winner and former Poland International, Adrian Mierzejewski, who lived in Riyadh for two years between 2014 and 2016, has questioned why Ronaldo, 38, was so ecstatic after any chance of winning a significant trophy with Al-Nassr vanished following his high-profile arrival.
Mierzejewski wrote: “That moment when you lost the Supercup, you were eliminated in the semi-final of the Copa, you lost the derby to Hilal, which means no championship 99%, but you scored against Al Raed and your team won 4-0” alongside a video of Ronaldo celebrating his 12th goal through 15 appearances for Al-Nassr.
Although Ronaldo has won numerous major awards with Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus in the past, it looks like he will finish his first season in the Middle East without any.
However, the most lucrative contract in football should lessen the blow somewhat.
