ABUJA, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – President Muhammadu Buhari has described Nigeria’s President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the best person for the job.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate was returned as President after polling 8,805,655 votes against PDP’s 6,984,520, LP’s 6,098,588 and NNPP’s 1,496,687.
Even though the Labour Party and Peoples Democratic Party expressed their displeasure with the results, the INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, returned Tinubu as the winner.
President Buhari has now congratulated his successor, while noting that the former Lagos Governor was duly elected by the people, despite the faults in some quarters.
