15 Rescued From Kidnappers’ Den In Zamfara State

Fifteen people kidnapped by bandits along the Gusau-Tsafe Road in Zamfara State, has been rescued by the Police.

Addressing journalists in Gusau on Thursday, the spokesperson for the Command, SP Mohammed Shehu, said, on 5 January, 2023, the Command under the leadership of CP Kolo Yusuf rescued 15 kidnap victims that comprised seven women, six men and two children.

Shehu stated that in the course of debriefing, the victims informed the Police that they were blocked and abducted by a large number of bandits along Yankara-Tsafe – Gusau Road near Magazu village.

According to him, the abducted persons were coming back from Abuja and Kaduna heading to Gusau, Sokoto, and Birnin Kebbi respectively.

“The victims were medically checked at the police clinic facility, debriefed by the police detectives, and thereafter reunited with their families and relations.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Kolo Yusuf, congratulated the rescued victims for regaining. freedom.

“Kolo also assured the people of the police’s continuous commitment to sustain the ongoing search operation in order to rescue the remaining victims in captivity,” Shehu concluded.
