The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, arrived the country on Sunday, after attending the US-Africa Leader’s Summit in Washington D.C.

The Summit, which held from December 13-15 in Washington DC, highlighted the U.S. commitment to expanding and deepening partnership with African countries, institutions, and people.

The US-Africa summit which began in 2014 is the biggest international gathering in Washington since the COVID-19 pandemic and the most substantial commitment by a US administration to boosting its influence in Africa for almost a decade.

The President was welcomed into the country by the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba; the Director-General of the Department of State Service (DSS), Yusuf Magaji Bichi; and other senior security officials, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja.
