Nigerian activist and Co-convener of the #BringBackOurGirls Movement, Aisha Yesufu, has responded to critics who said the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, would win the 2023 election and there would be nothing she would do about it.
Reacting to the critics on Thursday, Yesufu boasted that she has enough passive income to survive another eight years of bad leadership in Nigeria.
Yesufu, who supports Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, tweeted: “Some of you taunting me with things like ‘Tinubu will win the election & nothing you will do about it’ is the most laughable thing ever.
“I can comfortably survive another eight years of disastrous leadership. I have enough passive income to take care of my needs. My tenants will pay rent.
“I made sure passive income was locked down before I started coming to social media to advocate on anything. It is a reason I can call anyone out without fear.”
Peter Obi was in the Jolly Nyame Stadium in Jalingo on Wednesday in continuation of his nationwide campaign.
The activist was present in Jalingo, to show her support for the presidential candidate.
During the rally, Obi promised to change the fortunes of the state and Nigeria in general, if given the mandate to rule the country come 2023.
According to him: “I will make Taraba an economic hub and a tourist centre for Nigeria. The untapped mineral resources and the Mambilla Hydro is enough to transform the economy of the country and create job opportunities for Nigerian youths.
“The insecurity in the country is persisting due to lack of job opportunities. I will bring the country back to her days of greatness and the citizens will smile again,” he stated.
The presidential hopeful also assured the people of the state and Nigerians in general that, the issue of ASUU strike would be a thing of the past if he was elected the president of the country.
He stated that the fifty months of ASUU strike since 1999 was a disaster and inimical to the the actualization of a productive nation.
