IBADAN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Reno Omokri, the former presidential aide of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan bickered with the supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate at Chatham House in London, where Bola Tinubu was speaking.
Reno Omokri, who had gone to protest at Chatham House could be heard chanting “Tinubu”, in a video trending on Twitter, while APC supporters responded, “For President,” drowning out his own response. They later started to sing.
Tinubu supporters’ attempt to silence him didn’t deter Omokri from protesting as he continued chanting “Tinubu”
The former aide shared photos and videos from the protest on his Twitter page.
He continued updating his followers about the protest which he tagged “a resounding success”.
He wrote: “The #HarassTinubuOutofLondon Protest Against Drug Lord Tinubu at Chatham House was a resounding success! The British media were there and Tinubu was projected to them for what he is, a KNOWN DRUG LORD! That is what will be remembered of his @ChathamHouse event! TableShaker”
In another tweet, he shared a video of the protest alongside a caption: “Tinubu Disgraced At Chatham House as Omokri Leads #HarassTinubuOutofLondon Anti Drugs Demonstration.”
Sharing more photos, Omokri said: “More photos from the #HarassTinubuOutofLondon Anti Drugs Protest at Chatham House. APC Supporters Left Their Aim and Were Following Us About, Which is Exactly What We Wanted.
“Additional photos from the #HarassTinubuOutofLondon Anti Drugs Protest at Chatham House. Tinubu is a KNOWN DRUG LORD and It Is Up To Us To Expose Him Wherever He Goes! TableShaker,” he captioned another set of photos shared on his social media handle.
His action has sparked reactions on Twitter. Some Nigerians praised him for fighting for the good of the country while others dragged him and his preferred candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
A tweep, @yuslove01 wrote: “Someone who can’t fight for his own country rather be Infront of a whole world…imagine?”
@Maka6166 wrote: “Sir I so much respect you but for Atiku matter you go collect woto woto 🤔🤔🤔”
“So you flew from US to UK cuz of this madness. It’s apparent you don’t have a job,” @MarcOduAdeleke who couldn’t hide his displeasure tweeted.
In the same vein, @o_ssai said: “Dear @atiku …. please collect your money from Reno Omokri, he failed in this mission to destabilise @officialABAT speech at the Chatham House.
“Oga all these are for clout chasing. You are no more relevant. Vote Obi so that posterity will be fair to you,” @eddiebleboy17 advised Omokri.
