LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Some All Progressive Congress (APC) members in Kano have urged the party leadership to immediately take a drastic measure against Bashir Ahmad, President Muhammadu Buhari’s Aide, over his alleged disregard for party growth and progress.
The members accused Bashir Ahmad of choosing, in a more nonchalant attitude, to attend the ongoing World Cup final in far away Qatar at a time the party is struggling to capture Kano and Nigeria in general.
Alhaji Samani Inuwa, one of the leaders of the Party from Gaya Local Government told Newsmen alongside other members that Bashir’s act calls for concern to every member of the APC.
He said: “We cannot comprehend how Bashir Ahmad chooses to be in Qatar when in Kano we were in Gaya Local Government to launch the Party Gubernatorial and other positions Campaigns.
“If every member of the Party would act the way Bashir acted, we don’t think APC would made it to the elective offices, therefore a punishment should quickly meted on him to serve as a deterrent to others.”
Bashir, President Buhari’s aide on New Media, had tweeted his picture in a stadium in Qatar, where he was watching a World Cup match.
The tweets on his page generated a lot of backlash mainly from members of the APC and some other Nigerians who saw his action as rather unfortunate.
All efforts to reach Bashir Ahmad to hear his response proved abortive because he could not be reached
