PORT-HARCORT, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has delivered a honest opinion about the personality of Peter Obi and his ambition.
Wike, while playing host to the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 election, noted that his guest is such a humble individual.
The statement drew a loud cheer from the crowd at the venue of the inauguration of the Nkpolu-Oroworukwo flyover bridge in Rivers State.
The Rivers Governor, however, clarified that his admission of Obi’s humility does not automatically mean he believes the former Anambra State Governor will be the one to save Nigeria.
Wike said: “Your Excellency, you were a member of our party, you left our party, I know why you left our party, and I don’t blame you for leaving our party.
“Nobody would have suffered what you suffered, the humiliation you have suffered, I know, and stay in the party.
“But I will not leave, I will fight the hyenas. I ill never allow armed robbers to take away my house. I’m going to stay to chase away the armed robbers.”
While clarifying what he meant by what he said about the former PDP man, Wike noted: “I did not say he’ll be the one to save Nigeria, that is his ambition, but whether he’s the one, I do not know yet.
“I must confess to you, you are a very humble person. That does not mean you are the one to save Nigeria.”
