ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Labour Party (LP) has said the 2023 general elections is an opportunity for its party to take back Nigeria and hand it over to the people.

The national chairman of the LP, Barr Julius Abure, stated this during the inauguration of the 1,453 members of the presidential campaign council.

He said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) led government has been using various methods to keep the country in captivity, and urged the masses to vote for the right leadership.

Abure said: “We will take back Nigeria and hand it over to the people”, noting that arriving at the list was not an easy task.

“I believe that those chosen are worthy to drive the campaign and lead the party to victory in the 2023 election.

“Our presidential candidate and other candidates are the beautiful brides of the people and that has entrusted in us serious responsibility to lead the party to victory.

“The task ahead is enormous. The ruling class has been using various methods to keep us in captivity; they have been using ethnicity and religion. They have also used their stolen money to keep the right people out of power.

“The massive popularity the party has enjoyed shows that Nigerians are ready to vote for character and capacity; vote for the right leadership.

“Obi stands out clearly among the committee of presidential candidates in terms of capacity, integrity, leadership quality and performance,” Abure said.
