Early Morning Tension In Yaba As Fire Guts Lagos WAEC Office

LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Reports reaching voiceofnaija.ng have it that the Lagos Office of the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC), is on fire, with some of the occupants trapped.

As at the time of filing this report, feelers say people who were trapped have almost all been rescued as the inferno continued on Wednesday morning.

Although the cause of the fire have not been ascertained, reports say the fire started at about 6.50am; occupants of the building started calling neighbours and bystanders for help.

Voiceofnaija.ng gathered that Officers of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service have arrived the scene alongside other emergency responders in a bid to put out the fire and rescue all the occupants..
