ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Engr Joe Igbokwe, the special adviser to Lagos State Governor on Drainage and water resources, says he can’t travel to the South-East anymore.
In an interview with TVC News, he disclosed that he hasn’t traveled to the South-East ever since his house was set ablaze.
It would be recalled that Igbokwe’s house in Nnewi, Anambra State was set ablaze on 3 October, 2021 by suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), and it’s security wing, Eastern Security Network, (ESN).
In the interview, Igbokwe, who is the pioneer General Manager of Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance & Regulatory Agency (LASIMRA), claimed he had been attacked severally by the Igbos for preaching peace and speaking truth.
He said: “I and some few people have been preaching to the South-East to make friends and build bridges with other Nigerians but they hated us for speaking the truth.
“They felt that the only way to stop us is to silence us and destroyed what will have.
“If I have a chance I travel to the East and come back anytime because it is my home, but now I can’t do that because I don’t have a house anymore.
“My house was totally brought down, the prepetators thought nobody saw them but I did through my CCTV.”
