IBADAN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has said it will file a notice of Appeal at the Appellate Court in Abuja to grant interlocutory injunction and set aside the judgment of the National Industrial Court.
Recall that the Federal Government dragged ASUU to the National Industrial Court and asked it to compel the union to call off its seven months old strike that has paralysed the academic activities in the nation’s public universities.
The Industrial Court had ordered the Academic Staff Union of Universities to resume after months of prolonged strike action, embarked on by its members
The counsel to ASUU and human rights activist, Mr Femi Falana, confirmed this on Thursday to Tribune Online in an interview.
He said: “We have just sent somebody to the court to collect the certified report of the judgment and get it ready for us to enable us to file our application for interlocutory order of the judgment on Friday.
“Even though we have 14 days window to do that, we will file our appeal paper first thing tomorrow morning and that is all I can say for now on the matter.”
