Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, a seasoned media personality and lawyer, is not immune when it comes to this endeavor.
This young man is a Nigerian lawyer and media personality from Okija in Anambra State, Nigeria.
Ebuka first made headlines as a contestant on Big Brother Naija reality tv show and went on to establish a career as a compere and television host, eventually serving as host of the show that shot him into the limelight.
Born on 14 July, 1982, in Benin City, Edo State capital to a banker father and a mother who is a nurse, the TV host is the third of four children.
He went through with his nursery and primary education in the mid-western Nigerian city of Benin, remarkably passing the Common Entrance Examination into secondary school from Primary Four.
Ebuka subsequently moved to the capital city of Abuja with his family.
He had his secondary education at Christ The King College Abuja, graduating in 1997, before getting his university education at the University of Abuja, up until 2004.
In 2006, media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu was in the Big Brother Nigeria House though he did not win the show, the show helped him launch a career in the media industry where he is currently making waves.
Ebuka was the 7th housemate to leave the house in his time.
His other housemates then were Katung, Gideon Okeke, Francisca, among others. He survived the house for eight weeks.
Although he did not win the show, Ebuka has become a media personality of note, contributing to several online publications and hosting several events despite being a law graduate.
After the reality show in 2006, he signed endorsement deals with a major telecommunications brand as well as a popular brewing company and as such hosted ‘Friend or Foe’ on NTA, the GLO Show, also on NTA, as well as Guinness’ Greatness TV.
He also maintained a weekly column called ‘Contrast’ with a Nigerian national daily newspaper, This Day.
In the run up to the 2011 general elections in Nigeria, he hosted the first ever presidential debate focused on youth issues, which was broadcast live across Nigeria.
In 2013, producers of Rubbin’ Minds, a Nigerian television talk-show, announced that Obi-Uchendu would be the new host.
The same year, Obi-Uchendu became one of the co-hosts of ‘The Spot’, a TV show on DSTV, alongside Lamide Akintobi and Zainab Balogun.
In July 2016, he became the host of Men’s Corner, Nigeria’s first all male TV talk show.
In 2017, Big Brother Naija returned and has been able to enthrall millions of viewers for all of its six seasons.
The show’s first season aired as far back as 2006 and didn’t make a grand return to the screens for a second season until 2017.
Asides the drama and intrigues that come with the show, one of the major highlights that viewers look out for is the style game and fashion statements made by the show’s host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.

Though Ebuka has dropped the wig to become a public figure and media personality, he’s still a lawyer. He was called to the Nigerian bar in 2005.
After completing his stint in Big Brother and working for a while, Ebuka left Nigeria to obtain his Master of Laws Degree from the Washington College of Law of the American University in 2010.
Lately, he channels his legal knowledge into his role as Counsel on Judging Matters, DStv’s hit show, that showcases real-life issues being settled in court by a real judge – Justice Olusola Williams.
The 40-year-old serves as a legal counsel on ‘Judging Matters’, where he grills the plaintiffs and defendants of cases brought before the courtroom in search of the truth.
He also brings out the finer points on the cases before Justice Olusola Williams, a retired Lagos state judge, to enable her to make a final but fair decision.
Fans on social media have been quick to point out how funny ‘Judging Matters’ is. Cases are presented by the plaintiffs and defendants with the characteristic Nigerian dramatic flair, and Ebuka doesn’t miss a beat as he punctuates his line of questioning with pidgin, bringing out the local elements of the show.
Ebuka got married to Cynthia Obianodo, the daughter of billionaire businessman, Vincent Obianodo on 6 February 2016 in Abuja.
Vincent Obianodo is the owner of ‘Young Shall Grow Motors’ and Rockview Hotels.
On 8 November 2016, the couple welcomed a daughter and two years later, they announced they were expecting another child via Instagram.
Presently, one of the positions that Ebuka holds is that of the host of Bounce Radio’s BLACKBOX interviews.
