ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has denied the alleged killing of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), members in Delta State.

Emma Powerful, spokesman of IPOB, therefore accused the police of lying and misinforming Nigerians.

Powerful said ESN operatives were not involved in a gun battle with policemen in the state.

According to him, the claim by the Nigeria Police Force was aimed at blackmailing IPOB and ESN.

The group stressed that ESN are disciplined operatives, and hence has no business engaging police in a gun battle.

A statement by Powerful reads partly: “We the global movement and noble family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under the command of great leader, Nnamdi Kanu, wish to inform the public that there was no ESN or IPOB member killed in Delta State.

“We advise Nigeria police in Delta to stop lying and misinforming the public. The second name of the Police should be “Nigeria Police Lying Force” because lying has become part of their job.

“ESN volunteers did not have any gun battle with the Police and no ESN operative died in Delta State.”

IPOB maintains that its militia is after terrorists and not the police or army, adding that ESN remain formidable until the actualization of Biafra.

The separatist group cautioned the police against deceiving the public, saying that it would not be distracted by the blackmail of the Nigerian Government.
