Jean Carroll, who accused him of sexual assault and defamation.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In May of the previous year, a jury found Trump liable for sexually assaulting Carroll in 1996, awarding her approximately $2 million for the assault and $3 million for defamation related to Trump&#8217;s dismissal of her claims as &#8220;<em>a complete con job&#8221; <\/em>in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ongoing trial will assess the damages Trump should pay for separate remarks he made about Carroll in 2019 when he was the president.
