The House of Representatives has postponed its valedictory session scheduled for today, 6 June, to Wednesday, 7 June. This was announced in a statement released by the Clerk to the House, Yahaya Danzaria. It read: “This is to inform all Honourable Members that the Valedictory session for the 9th House of Representatives will hold on Wednesday, 7th June, 2023 by 10:00am at the HOR chambers. “The event will have in attendance former Presiding Officers, Leadership and Clerks. Stephen Oronsaye, a former Head of Service of the Federation, has been discharged and acquitted of the N2 billion fraud charge filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja in his judgment held that the prosecution failed to provide enough evidence to warrant a conviction. Justice James Omotosho, the presiding judge at a Federal High Court in Abuja, on Monday, awarded a N10 million fine against Festus Keyamo, the immediate past Minister of State for Labour and Employment, for filing a frivolous suit against Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Former Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike, has again visited the Aso Villa, barely 72 hours after meeting President Bola Tinubu. Tinubu also received in audience the former Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi, and Senator Godswill Akpabio.
