The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has said the Federal Government can afford the 200% pay rise demanded. NARD National President, Emeka Orji stated this on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Tuesday. He said the review of salaries of resident doctors should have taken place in 2014 with rising inflation and attendant economic shocks. “Things are getting worse and there is no increment in take-home pay,” he said. Autopsy reports released on Monday, confirmed that the people who were buried in mass graves linked to a Kenyan pastor, died of starvation. According to the first autopsies, some victims were asphyxiated, the authorities said.
