ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) intercepted 12 consignments of cocaine at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, on Saturday. The consignments consisted of 797 pellets of cocaine weighing 17.6kg. NDLEA’s spokesman Femi Babafemi stated on Sunday in Abuja that a businessman, Augustine Emeka (44), was arrested in connection with the consignments. ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Naira has fallen massively against the US Dollar on Friday at the official foreign exchange market. According to official data from FMDQ, the Naira depreciated to N1099.05 on Friday from N843.07/$1 on Thursday. The figure represents an N255.98 loss at the local market compared to the N843.07/$1 it closed on Thursday. This is the first time the country’s currency was exchanged at over 1,000 in the official exchange in two months.
