LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has reacted to rumours that the Nollywood film star Olu Jacobs passed away.
As has happened in the past, rumours surfaced via social media on Sunday purporting the death of the ace actor.
Stressing that Jacobs was alive, the spokesperson of AGN, Kate Henshaw warned those behind such claims to stop it.

Posting on X, Henshaw wondered why Nigerians yearly declare Olu Jacobs dead.
According to Henshaw: “How you people put up RIP posts about someone who is still alive, year in year out, is very sickening, Tbh. You do this to this great man and his family all the time. It is all shades of wrong. Stop for goodness sake. UNCLE OLU JACOBS is ALIVE.”
This is not the first time Jacobs, who has been battling dementia with Lewy bodies, would be the subject of a death scare.
Rumours that Jacobs had died circulated in 2021, the same year his wife Joke Silva first disclosed his ailing health.
These rumours were dispelled when Jacobs made a public appearance at the 2021 Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF).
In 2022, the death rumours resurfaced, prompting Silva to threaten a lawsuit against netizens making unfounded claims.
