ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, has announced that his administration has cleared the verified backlog of pensions and gratuities owed to retirees in the state.
The governor made this disclosure during a statewide broadcast on Wednesday, marking his one year in office.
Since taking office, Governor Mbah stated that his administration has prioritized addressing pensions and gratuities.

“Our senior citizens deserve their due reward when they retire, having devoted a great percentage of their lives to the state,” he said.
He continued, “In doing so, however, it requires some verification exercise to digitalize the process and make the payments seamless.
“We have, in fact, cleared the verified backlog of their pension and gratuity.
“We’re also implementing e-governance technology and digitalization in Enugu State with significant positive impacts on both the people and the economy.”
Governor Mbah outlined the key benefits of these initiatives, including increased accessibility and convenience, improved service delivery, greater transparency, and enhanced communication and feedback from the public.
“This would be launched in three weeks’ time,” he added.
