LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-The United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority (UK CAA) has raised concerns with Nigeria’s Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) over alleged aviation safety regulation violations by Air Peace.
This development comes just three months after Air Peace began its Lagos-London route.
The UK CAA has sent two mandatory occurrence reports concerning Air Peace to the NCAA.
The complaint letter, titled “United Kingdom SAFA Ramp Inspection Report” with reference number CAA-UK-2024-0217, and “NATS Management System Safety Report,” was sent to the NCAA.
In response, the NCAA has requested Air Peace to clarify these issues.

The NCAA’s letter, dated May 14, 2024, and signed by General Manager of Operations Capt. O.O. Lawani.
In the letter, the NCAA stated that the UK CAA had highlighted the lack of operational approval for Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) functions, which affect the safe operation of the aircraft.
The letter further mentioned that the captain of the flight acknowledged using an EFB for navigational purposes, despite the absence of a mounting device, charging points, or backup battery for the EFB.
Air Peace recently launched its operations to London Gatwick from Lagos’s Murtala Muhammed International Airport under the Bilateral Air Services Agreement between Nigeria and the UK.
Attempts to reach Air Peace’s spokesperson, Stanley Olisa, were unsuccessful. When contacted, Olisa remained silent during the call and did not respond to a subsequent text message inquiry.
