ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah has charged the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Enugu State Command, on intensifying efforts in minimizing road crashes.
The call came during an interactive advocacy visit by the State’s Commandant of FRSC, Mr. Adeyemi Sokumbi, to the office of the Hon. Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Enugu State; Dr. Kingsley Tochi Udeh.
Udeh reiterated governor Mbah’s mandate to promote and improve road usage and traffic compliance.
He emphasized the importance of upholding the state’s traffic laws, aligning with the governor’s vision for safer road infrastructure and enhanced traffic management.

Udeh stressed the necessity for rigorous enforcement of traffic laws by the FRSC and other law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety of motorists and other road users.
He urged the Corps to enhance public enlightenment on road traffic laws and the importance of obeying them for everyone’s safety, reflecting Governor Mbah’s focus on educating the public about traffic law compliance.
The Attorney General emphasized Mbah’s determination to instill discipline among motorists and uphold traffic regulations by arresting and prosecuting traffic offenders, particularly those disregarding traffic lights.
He also called for the enhancement of the drivers’ license acquisition process to ensure that only qualified individuals obtain licenses.
Udeh assured the Corps of governor Mbah’s proactive approach to collaborating with relevant agencies to achieve his administration’s objectives.

Adeyemi, the Federal Road Safety Corps Sector Commandant, highlighted the FRSC’s “Operation Zero Crashes initiative,” aimed at reducing road crashes caused mainly by human factors.
He expressed gratitude to the Hon. Attorney General for the opportunity to engage and assured him of the Corps’ dedication to working closely with Governor Peter Mbah’s administration.
