LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The number of passengers who died in Sunday’s boat crash in Niger State have risen from 24 to 30.
The spokesman for the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA), Hussaine Ibrahim, who made the disclosure on Monday night, said they consist of three male children and 27 women.
Hussain also disclosed that four communities were affected, including Gbajibo, Yankyade, Biagi, and Ekwa, all in Mokwa LGA.

According to Ibrahim, most of the rescued victims were still in a state of shock and were unable to speak when they arrived in their communities on Monday, Punch reports.
He further disclosed that a larger percentage of the passengers who boarded the boat were women on their way to the farm.
Recall that voiceofnaija.ng earlier reported that a boat carrying over 100 passengers on Sunday in Mokwa Local Government Area of Niger State capsized.
24 persons were earlier reported dead by NSEMA, while 30 persons were rescued.
